Landyn Edwards Leads the Amateur Championship

This would be the biggest BOP effort in amateur golf since Danny Lee, Landyn’s former school (Both Old Boys of Rotorua Boys High School) teammate, won the US Amateur and rose to No 1 ranked amateur in the world.

It is 2010 Rotorua Open Champion Edwards, however, who tops the leaderboard after a four-under-par 68, which featured three birdies and a bogey on both the outward and inward half. Two under after 16, the Kiwi made successive birdies at the 547-yard, par-five 17th and the437-yard, par-four 18th to take the lead.
The second-best round of the day at Hillside was signed for by England’s Gregory Eason. The only player, apart from Edwards, to break par at a course described by Greg Norman as having the best back nine in the World.
