Pro’s Tip
Detachment
When I watch amateur golfers and some professionals I see them attaching far to much emotion (normally negative) to each golf shot. One of the secrets to playing great golf is staying calm confident and focused to do this you must stay in control of your emotions, below is a great phrase to adhere to in golf and in life.
"It is choosing how you will act in a situation rather than just REACTING. You are free to do what you really want to do. It is experiencing your feelings without allowing them to control you.

Undulating lies, how to play them and understanding how they effect the flight of your ball
When playing a shot from an undulating lie whether it be up hill or down hill the most important tip is that you align your body with the slope and swing your club with the slope.
Situation 1 – The uphill lie, set your shoulders parallel to the slope this will mean that you will have a little more weight on your right side (for the right handed golfer). When swinging the club always swing with the slope, because the lie of the land is forcing you onto your right side it is very difficult to create a weight transfer so use a ¾ swing and go down at least one club.
Ball flight laws – As a result of the low body not being able to drive as much as a normal shot, your hands are going to be over active so the ball will tend to fly with a draw or to the left of your target, your ball will also fly a lot higher than normal due to the up slope you are hitting off.
Tip for uphill lies – try moving the ball a little further forward in your stance, this will help your swing and your shot off an up slope.

Situation 2 – The down hill lie, set your shoulders parallel to the slope this will mean that you will have a little more weight on your left side (for the right handed golfer). When swinging the club always swing with the slope, because the lie of the land is forcing you onto your left side use a ¾ swing this allow you to stay more centred and will stop you from swaying and moving ahead of the ball on your down swing.
Ball Flight laws - Because of the slope and having your weight on your left side you are de lofting the club so ball is going to fly a lot lower, due to down slope it is difficult to release your hands through the shot so you ball is going to fade or fly more to the right.
Tip for the down hill lie – Try moving the ball a little further back in your stance this should eliminate the common fat shot from this situation.

Dom’s 1st Tip
Have a routine before you play every shot, it does not have to be long, but in that routine see how you want your ball to fly, where you want you ball to land and finish before you play every shot.
Be 100% decisive and committed to hitting your ball to that spot or hitting your putt along that line.
If the shot does not come off at least you prepared yourself the best you could, playing golf like this is a lot better that just hitting and hoping.
This will take some practice and some perseverance and will improve your golf shots on average.

Dom’s 2nd Tip
“The greatest pleasure is obtained by improving”
Ben Hogan
The game of Golf is around 80% mental and at the end of the day it is just a game and a game should be enjoyable.
How often is your mind or your mood controlled by your golf ball or the situation your may find yourself in?
You may not always be able to control your golf ball but you CAN always control your mind, think positively always think of what you WANT to do or where you want the ball to go.
If a negative thought comes into your mind stop start again with a positive thought, like: “Relax, make a good swing and hit this ball straight down the middle of the fairway.”
