John Manihera Bay of Plenty Schools Competition
Kawerau Golf Club 2011
On a typically sunny and hot Kawerau day almost every school in the Bay of Plenty turned up to win the top individual John Manihera Memorial trophy.
A Nett teams format with prizes for the best individual performers on the day, from Rotorua Boys High School William Howard was in great form averaging over 300 meters off the tee, TeKotuku TeAute really found the greens to his liking as he holed almost every putt he looked at.
Inform Piki Skerrett tees off down the tenth, tee to green he was in great form but struggled on the infamous Kawerau greens with a total of 42 putts in 18 holes of golf.
William Howard finished in second place with a solid 73, William Brown finished a shot back in 4th place with a grinded out 74, the next best was TeKotuku TeAute with 77 finishing in 6th position.
Tawhirimatea Witoko finished with a Nett 69, good enough for 5th place, eight shots behind the winner of the event.
